Originally from Peterborough, Ontario, Dr. Bonner earned her Bachelors in Honours Science from the University of Waterloo before continuing her studies in Waterloo at the School Of Optometry, where she graduated on the Dean’s Honour List. She joined Victoria Vision Eye Care in 2018 and is delighted to now call Victoria her home!
During her time at the University of Waterloo she helped raise funds to train guide dogs and provided vision screening in partnership with the Lion’s Club and Special Olympics as well as working with the Sports Vision Club to help varsity athletes reach their peak performance by enhancing vision.
Dr. Bonner gained practical experience with ocular diseases including gluacoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy during her externship at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Centre in Muskogee, Oklahoma and a special interest in the application of vision therapy to treat concussions and learning difficulties at Mind’s Eye Neuro-Visual Optometry in Etobicoke, Ontario.
In her spare time Dr. Bonner can be found devouring the latest novel from her book club, trying out new local foods and recipes, and petting dogs.
